The mission of Aid for Friends (AFF) is to alleviate the hunger and loneliness of isolated homebound individuals. Our volunteers visit with client friends throughout the five-county Greater Philadelphia region, providing home-cooked meals and life-enhancing friendship. All our services are provided free of charge.
Meals are prepared by volunteers, stored in freezers in churches throughout the region as well as at our headquarters and then picked up and distributed by our visitor volunteers in once weekly visits to their client friends. Most of our friends are elderly individuals who could not otherwise remain in their homes without the support of the meals we provide.
Through the generous support of our donors and volunteers, we serve over 2,000 homebound friends currently providing them a weekly visit and a daily meal. Since our founding in 1974, we have served over 15 million meals to more than 14,000 homebound friends. We invite you to learn more about us through exploring the stories in our site and consider joining us as either a donor or a volunteer to make your own story with AFF.
Aid for Friends is a registered 501c3 organization in the state of Pennsylvania.
